Fine Art Maternity Photography London — Behind the Scenes of a Summer of Growth
I've been quiet this summer.
Not because nothing was happening. But because everything was happening at once — and some of it was too big to put into words straight away.
My son graduated from high school. And a few days later he turned 18.
If you've been following my journey for a while you'll know that I don't have a single photograph of myself pregnant with him. He arrived, life moved fast, and that chapter passed undocumented. It's one of the reasons I became a maternity photographer — so other women never have to feel that particular absence.
Watching him graduate — this young man who was once a bump I never photographed — was one of the most emotional moments of my life. Proud doesn't begin to cover it.
So yes. I was quiet. I was present. And I was quietly building something really exciting in the background.
A new editorial direction.
This summer I made a decision that has been coming for a long time.
I've been inspired by fine art maternity photographers like Lola Melani — whose work treats pregnancy not as a photo opportunity but as an artistic subject worthy of the most considered, intentional, beautiful imagery.
I invested in exclusive Rosa Amour gowns. I developed a draping technique that creates movement, drama and flow in a way that feels completely different from traditional maternity photography.

And I ran a series of maternity photo sessions to build my new editorial portfolio.
Each session produced images I'm genuinely proud of. Not just as a photographer — as an artist.
This is the direction I'm taking my maternity work. Fine art. Editorial. Intentional. Every session treated as a unique creative collaboration between me and the woman in front of my lens.
And then there's Surrey.
I've been building toward this for months.
I visited a beautiful photo studio in Guildford. I connected with local makeup artists and hair stylists. I attended networking events and was immediately welcomed into a community of incredible female entrepreneurs and business owners.
And I realised — this is where I'm supposed to be next.
Edina Nagy Photography is now serving clients across Guildford, Farnham, Kingston upon Thames and the wider Surrey area — for maternity, newborn and personal branding photography.
If you're in Surrey and you've been looking for a maternity or branding photographer who truly understands what this chapter means — I'm here.
What's coming next.
The summer was quiet on the surface. Underneath it was one of the most important seasons of growth this business has ever had.
New editorial style. New location. New collaborations. New clarity about exactly who I am and who I serve.
I can't wait to share what's coming.
If you're expecting and interested in a maternity session in London or Surrey — I'd love to hear from you
